There are so many internet challenges for the month of November. Novel writing, journaling, growing out your facial hair… you name it. Â October was renamed to Sculptober… I’m not following any of these drummers.
MAWA has made the friendly challenge to… create. No other strings attached. A month of unfettered creation was kicked off with Charlene Brown, and thanks to her generosity, I was able to try pottery for the first time.
While took 2 1/2 tries to get things ‘right,’ I’m still pleased as punch, even if I burned my hands with the wheel trying to centre the clay. ::laughs:: I’m not sure the third try actually qualifies as a full attempt because I ripped the top from both of my first two bowls, but on the second go there was a lot of enough clay left to create this sweet little bowl. I will get to hold her again at the next meeting. ::smiles::
Will I update every day? I don’t know. Time is ticking and I have an hour and thirty five minutes before I fall a day behind already by the second day. Thursdays are, however, gymnastics days for the girls, and I spent the time during their lessons devouring issues of Saga, which I don’t recommend in a room full of strangers (as you never know what sorts of scenes you’re going to read). Still worth every penny, and fun to note that the 4th trade paperback is out in just over a month. Right about the time I surface from all this art. ::laughs::
Still, I do plan on update with art somewhat regularly. Maybe even a quick snapshot a day, in this wonderful world of technology.
