Left
through the winding bend
Gone
away to that quiet place
The wind whistles by and beyond
piercing every fibre
of being
Struck athwart
and rendered hollow
I wonder what remains
for the morrow
Left
through the winding bend
Gone
away to that quiet place
The wind whistles by and beyond
piercing every fibre
of being
Struck athwart
and rendered hollow
I wonder what remains
for the morrow
I screamed,
inside my head.
“I didn’t mean to,” escaped
stumbling shyly
through hindered lips
Despite
all actions to the
contrary.
~~~~~
Let me play the Fool for you
And be a convincing Fool at that.
May this smile on my lips
be enough
to tell you the story you want to hear,
and leave the truth unspoken.
Let my Want
play second only to your Need
to stay far, far away from your heart.
Oh, yes,
Let me play the Fool for you,
And let you be none the wiser.
~~~~~
I lost my morning to the sun
~shining effortlessly through my window~
kissing softly the dark away
I watched on with disinterest
as it then burned away the shadows
with purpose.
sizzle
hiss
pop!
Then, the time…
Another grain of sand lost.
Slipped away in the roar of children’s squabbles
turned to blissful silence punctuated only with the
interspersed click-clack of imagination.
Another world.
Better than my own.
I look, the morning gone.
Love waits in the wings,
for a  chance to fly…
Sometimes it misses its mark,
while
other times
It never had a chance at all.
Sometimes…
it falters and lands
somewhere …unexpected.
