Flooded Basements Wait For No Elf

The polite turn of phrase is “character building.” Between the broken motor in the dishwasher over the weekend and the death of my sump pump this week, it’s been a very exciting few days in my home.

We are still washing clothes days later which is frustrating, but not much to be done about it. Replacing the pump was expensive, but straightforward; choosing a new dishwasher has not been.  A couple of weeks of shopping around and life will be back to normal there, at least. I still have to call the insurance brokers to advise them; I don’t recall the particulars of what is covered and what is not, although I do have some sort of flooding insurance. Sewer back up yes. Faulty pump? Not so sure.

To take the sting out of the week, two more friends have  been extremely sweet and purchased jewelry from me yesterday <3

This one has sold and has already been mailed at the post office. These two were purchased locally and I shall have to drop them off sometime soon. ::smiles::

Guess that is about all for today. ‘Phee has a wicked chest cold that I am fretting over. I’ve kept her home the last two days but she goes stir crazy and I don’t blame her. After a few days of almost 10C weather the snow came back… such is a Manitoba spring, even if I want to pretend that snow that is gone should stay gone. It just makes it harder to decide if I should let her go to school. Guess I’ll know by the end of the hour when the school bus is due.
