One Step Forward, Two Steps Sideways
April showers bring May flowers.
~~~~~
I learned that rhyme in Kindergarten.
I remember bringing home a large poster seemingly as tall as I was, with a large letter J that took up most of the paper, disguised as an umbrella. Along with a handful of fat, full, raindrops were the words, “April Showers, bring May flowers.”
Well, Mother Nature decided to play an April Fool’s joke this year…
After everything melted, we received snow :P
It started to fall, thick and fluffy and both the girls ran outside to enjoy it. That amused me greatly. ::smiles::
Time seems to be a… slippery construct this week.
I have managed to update the store with a few listings. I tested out the idea of offering a coupon code (SPRING… still works through today! wink wink, nudge nudge) which did not translate into a single sale, hrm. I think the next thing to try is maybe a promotion? Some sort of “share this post and get a coupon” deal on Facebook/Instagram, I’m thinking.
I would say I am still making forward progress, but I feel more like I’m treading water, and if you ever saw me play Water Polo, you would know I am fairly poor at it, haha. (Oh, but I did love every minute of it!)
On the home front, the girls have enjoyed their Spring Break. We went as a family to see Zootopia, which everyone liked. I wanted to take them to see a couple of other movies, but morning matinees after a night shift at work was not something I could quite manage.
A lovely Facebook friend noted one of my unfinished projects and showed me how he makes his own clasps. What a wonderfully clever idea! I have picked up a WigJig and now only need a cup bur, to be able to make my own earrings, too.
I think the struggle next week will be to try to keep any momentum going, as there is much “spring cleaning” to tend to, which leaves less time to create. Oh! On that note, I’ve been asked to join a D&D campaign. <3Â I used to play but the group dissolved and finding other people to play with hasn’t worked out until now. 4th edition blossomed, withered and died in that whole time, wow. We will be trying 5th edition, which I have heard some good things about.
Very excited and will have to straighten the house up. ::smiles::
Catch up when I can,
~EA
